July 2007, saw a change being brought into the lives of the poverty sticken children of the Emandleni Informal Settlement in Actonville, Benoni. This inforomal settlement has got high levels of unemployment, teenage pregnancy and alcohol abuse, amongst these challenges there are children who need a bright future and to grow well.

Noah's Ark has a Day Care centre for some of these children. Realising their dream of achieving a healthy diet and augmenting their feeding scheme with proper food for the children, KPMG employees contributed their money, time and their manpower. They provided financial support and expertise by bringing in Food Gardens Foundation. At the time of soil turning, the KPMG employees brought with them their families and friends, and the goal was LEAVING A FULLY PLANTED GARDEN for the children to eat from. Although there was a lot of work towards making this possible, it was FUN and other community members joined in.

2008-2009, a new site was earmarked for expanding this initiative, fencing to demarcate this site was sought November 2008 and in May 2009, this vigorous team again did it.
