Implementation of a Food Garden

We have some very exciting news..... Do you know how expense it is to walk into a supermarket and purchase the bare essentials e.g. onions, tomatoes, cucumbers (you easily looking at paying R30.00) For those who have been dying to have your very own organic "veggie garden" read on....

FGF will be hosting demonstrations of how to create your very own Food Garden.

As of the 8th February 2010, we will be conducting continuous workshops for individuals who want to come at their own capacity and learn this precious skills; 

The demonstration entails:

Theory session covering -

  • The advantages of using the FGF Method;
  • Soil improvement;
  • Mulch;
  • Protection;
  • Planting Plan;
  • Pest Control, etc.
  • just to mention a few.

Practical session

  •  A demonstration of the FGF method
  •  Measuring
  •  What to plant
  • How to plant ( Interplanting (anti-pests plants)), etc.

Course Material:

  1. Workpapers (giving information and guidelines on how to start, maintain and sustain your Food Garden).
  2. Seeds to get you going;
  3. And a free Membership for a year

The membership benefits are:

-          access to advise from our fieldworkers and

-          2 newsletters a year
